What Devon Rural Training Unit (DRTU) Can Offer
CCD offers a range of training opportunities to individuals, agencies and community groups in Devon. This new CCD venture responds to the continuing demand from rural communities to plan, develop and implement their own solutions to pressing local issues.
The Devon Rural Training unit will provide:
- A responsive programme of training and support to rural communities.
- It will also sign post opportunities for service providers in enabling rural communities to extend learning and training.
- Support for individuals and groups in planning and developing projects in a sustainable.

Community Planning :
The community planning process is a chance to look at the needs of your community.
Consulting your community:
For anyone involved in community projects. Consulting your parish requires a planned approach to ensure that the process is inclusive and that ownership of the process is established within the community. Training will examine a variety of methods, which can be used in participative consultation
Social Inclusion
Social inclusion has a higher profile than ever before. This learning opportunity will cover techniques for inclusion and involvement of the “hard to reach”, provide examples of good practice and look at sources of further information.
Funding your project
Training for anyone inexperienced in the art of fundraising, who wish learn about, funding documentation, interpretation of funders requirements, presenting your project and preparing budget sheet.
Project Promotion
To identify key issues for successfully publicising your project /event and to provide practical advice on handling the media
Managing Community Buildings
We can offer training in this area for those who have responsibility for managing any type of community property .It will focus on legislation, managing risks and effective management and god practise.
