Membership
To help us provide the Rural Community Buildings Service it is really important that your community building is affiliated to CCD. We hope you will agree that the £30 for Full membership or £18 for supporting membership fee represents excellent value for money as it entitles you to:
- Quarterly magazine Village Green which has a regular section devoted specifically to the concerns of village halls.
- Free copies of the information sheets [ info sheets for village halls ] on issues of importance to village halls produced our national body ACRE, and news about the access to all their other relevant publications. This includes updates on new legislation such as the Licensing Act and the Disability Discrimination Act.
- Free advice and information on grants and fund-raising, and on the many problems encountered by village halls for example: charitable status, constitutions and trustees; management and maintenance; rates and VAT; insurance.
- Priority access to our conferences and training sessions on matters of current concern to village hall committees, and eligibility for our competitions [ link to DRTU ]
- Representation at local and national level via the Village Halls Forum.

Your membership fee to CCD is due in April 2006 [ link to CCD membership form ]. We follow the financial year, i.e. April to March, so the fee we are now requesting will ensure your affiliation up to 31st March.
The fees you pay are a vital source of funding for our continued and expanding work for Devon's village halls, which includes the development of Devon Association of Village Halls and we very much hope you will continue both to support us as well as make use of our services. Would you please send your cheque, made payable to the Community Council of Devon, to us at our address. Please note that we cannot automatically issue receipts. If you would like a receipt, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope.
