After 50 years in the school huts at County Hall, staff and trustees are delighted to welcome guests from Devon’s local authorities, public sector agencies, voluntary and community organisations and members to see their new facilities.
The event which takes place between 4pm and 7pm will not only provide guests with a tour of the new fully equipped facilities which are available for hire, but will also launch a range of new services.
The Devon Oil Collective is a community based countywide oil buying syndicate to reduce the cost of domestic heating oil. Joint buying power through this initiative can enable significant savings which we can pass directly to the buyer.
Catalyst is the Community Council of Devon’s new in-house consultancy service. Offering years of professional experience this service can provide a comprehensive and specialist service for those working in rural communities.
The Community Grant Scheme is a new £400,000 grants scheme aimed at developing community buildings across Devon. The fund was provided by Devon County Council to mark the 50th anniversary of the Community Council.
Elaine Cook, Chief Executive of the Community Council of Devon said “this event celebrates a new era for the Community Council and the culmination of a wonderful 50th anniversary year. Our new premises will provide a great base for our staff team from which we can continue to deliver a wide range of existing and new support for Devon’s rural communities, whilst providing excellent facilities for anyone wanting to access high quality training and meeting space”.
