On 15th November the Localism Bill finally completed its passage through parliament and became the Localism Act. The Act introduces the new Neighbourhood Plans as a way for communities to influence planning decisions in their area. 

There is still a way to go before Neighbourhood Plans become a reality because the Act is not being implemented immediately and there are additional pieces of legislation and policy guidance required to fill in some of the detail. The Community Council has been monitoring progress and has produced a position paper to keep you updated on the story so far.
