Social Enterprise and Business Support

We aim to enable communities to develop innovative and enterprising approaches which solve rural
problems, provide local services, and improve the quality of community life.

Our objectives cover three main areas:

  • Enterprise for All: To support rural residents who face barriers to participating in work, by promoting entrepreneurship and by providing access to appropriate support and advice.

  • Social Enterprise: To support voluntary groups in developing an enterprising approach, and to work with communities to retain or develop local businesses and services.

  • Community Learning: To work with communities in order to bring opportunities for learning and development of skills within range of rural residents.
