Community Grants Scheme for Community Buildings

Devon County Council has allocated £400,000 between 2012 and 2014 to be distributed in grants for capital assets. The Community Council of Devon administers this scheme on their behalf.
Who can apply?
This grant scheme is open to all not-for-profit community organisations who run community buildings in Devon (excluding Plymouth and Torbay) e.g. village halls, community shops and pubs.
These must be multi-use (a minimum of two or more separate user groups or services), with open access to all sectors of the community, and owned and/or managed by the community. The organisation must be an established and constituted group of at least 3 committee members. We will not fund individuals.
We are unlikely to fund any organisation which has received a capital grant from the Community Council within the previous 2 years.
How much can you apply for?
Grants are available between £5,000 and £20,000, but we will only contribute up to 1/3 of total project costs. Total project costs cannot exceed £1,000,000.
Match funding should make up a minimum of 2/3 thirds of the total project cost, this should include (where possible) a contribution from your Parish/Town council demonstrating local support for your project.
Closing dates
Closing dates for applications will be twice a year on the 31st July and 31st January.
Do make contact with the Community Council of Devon’s Community building team to discuss your application and access support and training.
