Community Led Planning
A Community Led Plan (also known as Parish or Town Plan) is a record of what your community values now and what it wants to be like in the future. The plan is a very important document and can give communities the power to influence change. National and local government and other service providers have increasingly recognised the value of community led planning in developing strategies that meet local needs. The process is particularly relevant to the concept of ‘Big Society’.
The process of developing the plan allows everyone in your community to have their say about issues such as development, housing, local services, community activities, leisure, employment, education and environment. The agenda is set by the community irrespective of age, gender, income or length of residency.
